Description

Presenting a two-panel mosaic of the Rosette Nebula, captured through my Askar 107. The Rosette Nebula holds a special place for many astrophotographers, including myself. To me it was my  first narrowband image.

This revisit to an old favourite is not just about recapturing its beauty, but also a reflection of the skills and knowledge I've accumulated over time.In processing this image, I've employed the classic SHO palette, focusing particularly on enhancing the sulphur component which add some beautiful details and red hues not seen on any other emissions bring forward some details in the nebula's structure that were previously less pronounced.

About the Rosette Nebula itself: Located approximately 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros, the Rosette Nebula is a vast cloud of gas and dust, with a distinctive rose-like shape (and depending on its orientation it can also look like a skull...) and rich hues make it a favourite subject for many astrophotographers alike
